Lotus

Lotus

Lotus

by Ralph Miller

The energy represented by the lotus is exquisitely sacred and divine. The lotus flower appeared in legends originating both from India and from ancient Egypt. It played an important part in ancient Egyptian religion. According to the story; "before the universe came into being, there was an infinite ocean of inert water, which constituted the primeval being named Nun.

For me, the lotus flower represents the energy of the heart. The lotus or the heart energy is a feminine energy. It is pure creativity. In fact, the energy of the heart (lotus) is both feminine and self-creating. The natural tendency of this energy is to extend itself out to others. It wants to connect.

"The whole being of the great goddess is of an unfathomable depth. The universal heart is her heart and the divine pure law is her pure being."

- Lao Tzu, Hua Hu Ching

Many have experienced such a unique connection with others, that it completely surpasses typical human relationships. Many have gone to a depth of honesty and integrity with each other that is rare and unique. What is this level of love and trust all about? What is it for?

I believe that in ancient times, in places like Atlantis, Lemuria and later perhaps in Egypt, that the human race was directed in a completely different way than it is directed today. People were directed by their own strong inner voices and intuitions from a secret place of intelligence and knowing. They were directed from their hearts. This energy of the heart, including the language of the heart and if you will, the mind of the heart, have a quality that is feminine. This feminine quality is healing. It is welcoming. It is nurturing. It is creative, just as the female is creative. The female is the healer and the bringer of new life.

At one time all of humanity spoke one language. It was not the sort of language that you would think of as a language. It was a sacred language of the heart. This language of the heart cannot be understood by the mind. It is completely independent of the mind. This language is hidden inside of openness and vulnerability. It is hidden inside of human touch.

It is almost impossible for our minds to conceive of this, because we have grown up in an age that is controlled by mind and ego.

The mind and the ego operate in the language of the mind. The language of the mind operates in words and sentences in whatever language one speaks. Perhaps English or German or Spanish. I believe this language of the heart was common at one time. Perhaps it is the pre-Babel language talked about in the bible. Certainly it is a language that has been almost completely forgotten.

Mind and ego are a masculine aspect. Masculine, how? The nature of the masculine has to do with progress and control, always in a forward motion on a time-line. Mind works and operates in a masculine way. Our minds say to us, "Before I can do that, I need to do this. And if I can accomplish that, then this will happen."

Masculine mind is always projecting into the imaginary … into the past … into the future. The mind says, "If only I had done that …" pining away about the events of the past. It says, "I wish this would happen …" negatively yearning for the future.

The reality of …

… the now

… moment, is not attainable by the masculine mind, because it is always striving. The masculine mind thrives on commentary and noise, creating anxiety and confusion. The feminine nature of the heart is able to expand into the moment … into the now.
Judgment.

Ego is the false self who judges. In fact, ego has an opinion about everything. From the earliest hours and days of our existence we are taught the art of lying and judgment. We tell ourselves lies about what sort of people we should be. Thus, we begin to create the false ego self. We begin to adopt an identity associated with ego. We begin to feel that the ego is the 'I'.

The false self or ego is not who we really are. It is a fabrication, formed from our own judgments about ourselves and others. "I should be a better person than that." Or better yet, "I am a better person than that." Do you see how one sentence is about shame and guilt. And the other sentence is about arrogance and specialness? "I should be better …. I am better."

When we make a judgment about anything, we are limiting ourselves and creating boundaries around something that is limitless. Some have said that judgment is in fact man's original sin. Certainly the allegorical story relates that mankind's first deviation from its own divine nature had to do with a judgment. God, after searching for Adam in the garden, asked him where he was. Adam replied, "We saw that we were naked and so we hid." God's response to Adam was very interesting. He did not ask Adam why he was hiding. Rather, he asked him a very strange question, "Who told you that you were naked?" He asked him because he knew something was wrong.

God's last question to Adam is about the false judgment that Adam had made about himself. Somehow Adam got it into his mind that his own nakedness was wrong. He saw himself as someone who wouldn't be or shouldn't be naked. He made a judgment about himself. He created a distortion of himself in that he adopted this distortion as his 'new' self. This ego or false self emerged from this judgment he made about himself.

The poison and disease of the false self or ego has almost erased the true nature of humanity. We have become slaves to the ego or the false self. This false self expanded into the group ego or group-self. The group-self has literally enslaved us all. Our judgments and opinions have filled every corner of our minds, full of judgments and prejudices about ourselves and others. Our minds have become ruled by fear and anxiety. An endless cycle ensues.

We feel insecure because of the judgments that come from our own minds and then from the judgments others have about us. We judge others and ourselves in order to prop up our own egos. We create a false sense of security. Everything becomes a struggle to stay on top. We must continue struggling in order to maintain the false sense of security. We condemn others, and we condemn ourselves.

"A time of confusion will arise and grow progressively worse. People will loose their appreciation for a healthy natural life of plainness after being attracted to a entrapped by all kinds of accumulated bad habits. Slavery will pervade human life and all human relationships under different names and reasons. If one is not the slave of social undevelopment, he will be the slave of all kinds of emotional entrapment; if not the slave of his desires, then the slave of his ego.

The forms of slavery are many. Most people become slaves to natural demands, fashionable luxuries, social power, artificial religion or ideology, destiny, and most of all, psychological excuses. All kinds of unnecessary conflict will be brought about, aggravating turmoil and creating unprecedented calamity on a large scale."

- Lao Tzu, Hua Hu Ching

The incessant dialogue that goes on, becomes drivel that our own minds feed us. This dialogue has a mirror reflection in the group mind. There is always a connection. Our minds tell us endlessly of the bitterness, jealousy and hatred that we feel for other people. Our minds, directed by the group-ego tell us what to do, what to think, what to believe, etc. This group-mind is expressed in the control of the media. The media becomes the mouthpiece of the false group-ego. It instructs us what to wear, how to smell and who to be afraid of, and who to hate. We collectively vacillate between a false sense of security and insecurity. A 'false sense of security' is as good as it gets.

For 10,000 years this planet has been dominated by a masculine nature or aspect, which is simply ego directed mind exerting control over the affairs of individuals and humanity collectively. This male ego controlled group-mind is now on the verge of bringing about the extinction of the human race on this planet, and even further, the death of the planet itself.

Money

Male domination sustains itself through control. It is the very nature or the self-perpetuating mechanism of the masculine, to control. One of the fundamental masculine methods of control is money. I believe that money itself is an invention of the masculine ego-mind that has been devised to control and enslave. This control is self-perpetuating.

Before the dawn of money, you can imagine that people were carting around various staple items for sustenance. Maybe they had a few chickens and several bunches of carrots. From the ego mind, they were always on the lookout for a deal, or a way to improve their holdings; a way to hoard goods. And so they bartered. Barter became prevalent and so in order to improve the efficiency of barter, the use of money was introduced. Remember how the original US Notes were called Silver Certificates, and were actually exchangeable for their equivalent value in silver? In any case, what I am suggesting is that the original premise was prejudiced not only by survival, but also by greed, and superiority. Whoever has the most chickens, wins.
We are now moving into a highly evolved age of the feminine energy.

In this new age, the feminine aspect of heart will create not only basic sustenance required for survival, but even more. It will provide complete abundance for those who can resonate with their hearts and this feminine aspect. The female energy cares for others. It takes care of others and looks out for the needy. The fundamental aspect of the heart energy is not about taking, saving and hoarding. Rather it is about giving, nurturing and caring.

In highly developed cultures of the goddess or feminine energy, everybody understands everybody else via this single language of the heart. Abundance beyond limits exists for everyone, because people understood the needs of each other. People understood the meaning of caring for one another. Money becomes unnecessary.

Our minds cannot conceive of abundance in this way, because again, we are conditioned by lies. Money itself lies to us. The media lies to us to create want. We want things. We have become a planet of locusts that is literally consuming everything in sight.

The masculine ego-mind can only think of what it desires and wants. It wants a new Lexus. It wants liposuction. Want then goes on to create addiction. Our media-fueled desires create addiction to everything. We become literally controlled by a group-mind articulated by the media, that instructs us about everything that we must have in order to survive. Fear reigns when we fall short of the standard that we have put on ourselves.

Sustenance

If you think about it, you actually need very little to survive. The feminine energy; this energy of the heart naturally brings about true contentment. Those who are in touch with this heart energy realize that they actually need very little in order to be completely satisfied and happy and content. The real thing that humans need in addition to basic shelter is healthy living food that heals and nourishes the body. And they also have a need for love from other humans - deep heartfelt connections with others. Without those connections, we will all grow sick and we will die.

This world serves us up with junk food that is addictive and in many cases actually poisonous. Judgment and fear of others is slowly creating more and more separation between people. People long for love and affection and are unable to get it because they are imprisoned by their own egos.

So we are living in a world that is actually starving us to death for lack of nutrition for our physical bodies, as well as starvation for our spiritual bodies. This world teaches us to judge and to hate. It teaches us to live in isolation from each other. This world is dying.
Adequate food and nutrition can really be quite simple. Instead of eating processed and ultra-refined non-food foods, pick up a carrot and eat it. Fruits and vegetables are the fastest, most ready-to-eat food on the planet, and they have the healing qualities that our bodies are starved for.

Human touch and affection are also a very simple thing. Touch someone. Hold onto someone and look into their eyes and tell them how much you really love them … that you see their beauty.

100 Monkeys

The lotus energy; this energy of the heart is a healer of enormous proportions. It is bringing an evolutionary awareness that will usher in a completely new reality.

The story of the 100 monkeys on the small island off the coast of Japan is amazing. The monkeys loved sweet potatoes, but they did not like the dirt on them. First, a few very young monkeys on a single island began to wash their potatoes before eating them.

By the closest estimates of the observers, about 100 monkeys on that island had learned to wash their sweet potatoes by watching other monkeys who already knew how, then suddenly all the monkeys on the island knew this procedure almost simultaneously.

Not only that, but the monkeys on neighboring islands, who had never been observed washing sweet potatoes, were suddenly now washing their sweet potatoes. The phenomena is not explainable, except to say that some kind of a group-monkey-mind had created brand new hard-wired coding in the species. This apparently happened only after there was some kind of a critical mass achieved among the monkeys.

I believe …. no strike that …. I know that this energy of the heart …. this energy, that I refer to as lotus energy, will have a quantum evolutionary result with humanity. I am certain that this energy will support whomever resonates with it. This energy is nothing new … and there are a lot more monkeys who have learned it now. It is reaching critical mass and something amazing is about to happen.

Those who persist in the masculine world of false-self will find this evolution terrifying, because literally everything they depended on will be different. They will look at a dollar bill and will forget what it is for. Many things that now captivate the world, will become obsolete.

"When one is completely emancipated from what he has built around himself, what is left is his pure nature. A person can then spontaneously release his pure energy in daily life, so that his very essence is connected with the entire universe. He is thus regarded as a person of truth."

- Lao Tzu, Hua Hu Ching

"A person of truth is a living divinity. He is not only above his mind, but he can be above the laws of physical nature. He actually becomes one with all. When he moves, the universe moves. When he sleeps, the universe sleeps. This is not merely a philosophical notion; it is living truth."

- Lao Tzu, Hua Hu Ching

"His followers said to him, 'When will the kingdom come?' 'It will not come by watching for it. It will not be said, 'Look, here it is,' or 'Look, there it is.' Rather, the father's kingdom is already spread out upon the earth, and people do not see it."

- Jesus, Gospel of Thomas
